NASA Oops
by Zen
It's not often you get a chance to tell NASA they screwed up.

I've been monitoring the Mars Weather reports coming back from the InSight lander. NASA provide both a summary showing temperature, wind speed and air pressure in max, min and average, plus wind direction.

They also have some rather cool looking charts which show the changes these indicators go through throughout each sol using one-hourly data points.

Only they didn't match the summary data.

For example, the charts show temperature forever below -25C, while the summary data showed maximum temperature always above that by several degrees (usually around -15 to -18C). You have to go back to March to see temperatures as low as they are showing on the charts.

I dropped them a note so they can correct this discrepancy.

You can see what I mean on my Mars Weather page, where I've been collecting the historical data http://philip-p-ide.uk/doku.php/blog:aardvaark:mars_weather
