I am fairly new to creative writing. I am not really sure if actions; such as, directions should they be enclosed in brackets?
Let's see, an example could be

' I have a man walking down the street and he looks in the doorway, and yells " Hey You !'
How should I deal with the ' he looks in the doorway. I was thinking ->

[Looks Into The Doorway] 'Hey You,' John yelled.


Any ideas / thoughts on this are appreciated - > Thanks ahead of time.
