The account for smithy was created June 23, 2008, not nearly twenty years ago.

Note that you shouldn't post an email address in a forum that is open to the entire internet.

If you don't know your password and don't have access to the email address that is listed as the offsite email, then to verify your identity, you would need to fax a copy of an ID that links your first and last name on the account with the name on the ID that is faxed. The fax should include: The username of the account, a request to change the password and what the password should be changed to. The fax number is in Contact Writing.Com from Writing.Com 101 .

Once you have access again, you should change the offsite email in your account information to one that is current.

Also be sure to delete the temporary account while signed into the temporary account. The link to Close An Account is at the bottom of the page.
