If you have it ML linked in the forum, yes I'm pretty sure it can.

Hiding the badge hides it in your community area of received badges.

If you don't want it to show via ML, you can use the {hide}{/hide} tags.

{hide}This is hidden.{/hide}

And it shows nothing:
