To keep the number of genres at a manageable level, subcategories are generally not included as genre options. You can use the keywords section of your items, which is also searched, for that kind of differentiation within the genre.


The nav menu is organized by categories, and each view of the Newsfeed already has its own direct link in its logical location and is the default for using that link.

Everyone is here for their own reasons, and that needs to be respected. Forcing inconveniences on other people to further your own agenda about what members "should" be doing here isn't encouragement. It's also not customer-friendly and generally doesn't turn out well. Leaving interacting with newbies up to those who volunteer to do it is more likely to provide a better experience for the newbies and everyone else.
