Definitely. I'm a big fan of the get the first draft out without worrying about all of the minor details. That's why I like national novel writing month because the whole goal is to just write and worry about fixing everything else later. You don't even have to share it with anyone after the first draft is done. The first draft is allowed to be super messy. That is what rewrites and edits are for plus it can help to get things onto the page.
I've got so many ideas, many started and it can be tough at times to not fix things, but I most of the time follow the practice of just write the thing first, fix later.
