The site supports a limited number of fonts. If you're trying to upload a file that uses some other font, yes, that font will be lost. The site also has a limited number of font sizes. Same thing. The site default font is Arial, size 3.

Yes, copy/paste with most browsers does drop the formatting for bold, italic, and so on.

The drag & drop upload feature automatically eliminates leading spaces and leading tabs because the standard online reading format for paragraphing is double hard return between paragraphs, no indents. Reviewers prefer this paragraphing style for online reading.

If you can't do without the indented paragraphing, use these options in the Advanced section of the create/edit item page to specify otherwise:

          Paragraph Spacing:
