The site rating system, much like movie ratings, is meant as a guide for what is age appropriate for various age groups. A rating change is no reflection or judgment on the writing itself, it's just a way to set the correct rating for the many items on the site. Most contests (like the Cramp) allow all ratings for items. We just ask for items to be rated appropriately according to the site guidelines. (Personally most of my items are rated 13+ or higher.)
