I think my one two criticisms are:

1) the title is derogatory, which may set people off. These mistakes aren't a sign of amateur, they are a sign of being new, not learning the craft. Every pro author was an amateur before they started making enough money to rely on that income. That meant they had to master this stuff as amateur, first.

2) your post was a ruse to lead people to one of your WDC articles. Would have been fine if it was just the actual article. I've plenty of blog posts written so I can drop the link in to answer a question. But you've got a screen and a half of crap as your signature promoting your works before we can even get to the replies. That's not good forum etiquette.

Now the actual article was great. I thought the list was complete and I liked how hovering over each item expanded out an explanation.
