The system was supposed to refund you for the overlap but it didn't... I've never been able to narrow down that bug, but I see you didn't start on the lower membership, so when you purchased, it extended out your existing Upgrade and perhaps that's where the bug on auto-refunding happens. I'll have to look more into it.... all the same, I'm attaching the full refund for your Basic Membership that never kicked in.
