Yes, there is a $10 fee for changing your username, which must be paid in Gift Points. If you can afford to buy gift points, there is an option to buy $10 worth in the Shop. Then you'd have enough gift points to change the username.

Frankly, with a Registered User account that hasn't been used any more than yours, I'd recommend using the "free" method of changing your username anyway.

Prep work:

If you want to, you can right-click Save the page with your Favorites, assuming you have some, which will give you something to work from while setting new Favorites in the new account.

You can also right-click Save the page with any of your Account pages you want a copy of, either for the memory value or to use to copy/paste or compare to when setting up your new account, such as your personal information or your account settings subpages.

You can also forward any email you want to keep to your offsite email. Whether you use the "free" method or the "for fee" method, this part of the prep work needs to be done. Email doesn't get transferred with the "for fee" method.

"Free" method to changing your account:

Step 1. close your current account. The Close an Account link is at the bottom of most pages.

Step 2. Open a new one with a different username. You'll have 12 hours from the initial sign-up to use the emailed verification link to finalize the sign-up.
