Thanks for an awesome review! I have to confess to never having read this book, or even seen the film. I guess I'm probably in the minority with that. I am a fan of Roald Dahl, though, so maybe I'll have a read of this one. Matilda sounds like a plucky kid. I love how much you relate to her. It's always cool to find a kindred spirit in literature.
Dahl is so good at putting himself into the shoes of children. I think my favourite is The BFG. I love that Sophie is based on his own granddaughter.
