Could it be done as a flash - back to another time? Recently, I started using 'mapping' to generate ideas - not only brainstorming. I use the 'What if .. " in the mapping to examine the possibilities ....
What if :
a.) She had some magical ability from the future.
b.) She was a well - known politician (in the future) because she never made it as an artist - but wanted to change that.

You need to really use your imagination when you examine what is possible. You may uncover a few things that actually interest you. Heck, it might help to include thoughts from other people on this also.....
