I completely understand the whole "staying on track" thing, believe me. Does it help to set goals and maybe get a bit of a reward for following up? Try this: "Weekly Goals" .

What about a contest to get those creative juices flowing? Sometimes a deadline will help keep me on track (sometimes). I have two contests for new members of WdC only:
"A Newbie Poetry Contest"  RUNNING THIS MONTH!
"A Newbie Short Story Contest"  WILL RUN AGAIN IN DECEMBER!

Here is a list of all (or at least most) of the contests running now on WdC: "Contest Clues" .
