Welcome to Writing.Com's horror awards! Hosted by "The Scribes" , this strictly horror awards ceremony highlights the year's best in frightening short fiction.

Nominations are open from 1 August to 1 September.

Contenders will be announced on 1 October, and winners will be announced at

The Scream Awards Ceremony from 7 PM to 10 PM (WDCT) on Halloween Night.  



*Grave* Nominations *Grave*

This is the first round of The Scream Awards. Members are encouraged to submit an item from another member's port for consideration. If one wants to suggest his own work, 1000 Gift Points are required with the submission; otherwise, it will be disqualified. Scribes may nominate their own stories without charge, but they will be unable to partake in the judging in the next round. Every qualifying piece that receives a nomination will earn an exclusive banner for use both in signatures and within the nominated piece itself.

This is the second round of The Scream Awards. During the month of September, while the same number of Horror Enthusiasts as the number of Scribes sort through the Nominees to find the best entry, Writing.Com's horror fans will have a chance to vote on which story they think should take the Grand Prize. Those results will be shared during The Scream Awards Ceremony.

On 1 October, "The Scribes"  will announce the Finalists. Please join us on Halloween Night for the frightening festivities, updated every ten minutes! The winning piece will earn at least:

*Bullet* a Voucher for a professional edit by Cicero Grade Editing

Prizes increase with support. Donations of 50,000 Gift Points or more will receive a Merit Badge!
