In the beginning, there was Stories.Com, a website dedicated solely to the Interactive Story. Writers didn't have a choice but to choose their own adventure, travel down their own path and then start all over and do it again. Back in the Golden Age of Interactives, it was a common occurance to have four or five quality chapters added to your story every day. The Interactive Story reigned supreme. But, like most websites, Stories.Com grew up and became Writing.Com. It introduced Static Items and Message Forums and Books. The Interactive Story soon found itself hiding in the shadow of these other items, neglected and forgotten. Well not anymore.  Welcome to Pathfinders! We are a group of authors who want to see an Interactive Story Revival. Tired of writing your Interactive by yourself? Looking for people to add chapters to your story? Sick of sifting through pages upon pages of Interactives about shrinking and others just like them? Then you've come to the right place. Thanks to our Generous Donators! Daizy  -10KAnnonymous -500K (WOW! Thank you whoever you are!) haremprincess -20K (and thanks for everything!)  How does the group work? It's simple really. Authors who have at least ONE Interactive Story in their portfolio are welcome to join. Members can then look through the list of Pathfinder Interactives "Invalid Item"  and choose an interactive they'd like to add a chapter to. Once they've added a chapter, they come back and post in the group forum "Invalid Item" a list of the chapter/s they've added and a link to the story they added to. Posting a message isn't required, but there are certain benefits for the people who do post.When you've added a chapter, the author of that Interactive is now inclined to do one of two things: 1. Add a chapter to YOUR interactive in exchange for the one you added. 2. Pay you 100 gift points to buy themselves out of adding a chapter. And that's how it works! A chapter for a chapter! So if someone adds two chapters to your interactive, you owe them two chapters or 200 gift points or a chapter and 100 gifts points.  What are the benefits? Aside from having people add to your Interactive and receiving gift points from the people who don't add, there are quite a few prizes to be had. At the end of every month, the group will be handing out a Teamwork Merit Badge for the author who is most prolific in adding chapters for that month. Hence the reason why posting the number of chapters you've added in the message forum is a good idea. Also at the end of every month, group members will all cast their vote for the author they think contributed the "best" to their stories. They can vote for the author who added the best chapter, the one who they think had the best writing, or even the one who added the most. The person who wins this vote will receive a Writing Merit Badge. There will also be Interactive Merit Badges handed out for the Interactives who reach certain Milestone Markers in the number of chapters they have. So, every time your Interactive reaches one of these Milestones, you'll get an Interactive Merit Badge. Here are the Milestones:  Milestones 100 250 500 1000 2500 5000! PLUS! Any interactive story that reaches the 5000 chapter Milestone will receive an Awardicon worth 75,000 gp's. Because really, that's amazing if it makes it that far.  How do I join this awesome group? There are only a couple rules for membership. First of which is that you MUST have an Interactive in your portfolio. It can be new, it can be old, it can be 1 chapter or it can be 1 million chapters (holy cow!), it doesn't matter. You just have to have an Interactive. Secondly, you must be willing to participate. If people add chapters to your story and they don't get chapters or gift points in return, you will be removed from the group with a three month grace period before you can join it again. This may sound like a harsh rule, but it will be unfair to people if they add fifty chapters to your Interactive and get nothing in return. You made fun of the shrinking stories, does that mean you don't want them in your group? Of course not! Anyone is allowed to join no matter what their Interactive is about. The only thing I ask is that you have your story properly rated. I shouldn't be going through an E rated Interactive and suddenly stumble upon a graphic love scene. Okay, then how do I sign up? You can go to this survey, "Invalid Item" and fill it out. Everyone is welcome to join, we don't discriminate here. The purpose of the survey is so we have an easy way to get information from you.
