Say black man, can I take your hand
And walk with you in this land with no plan,
Fighting against the odds that are placed for Black Man
Behind every strong black man lies a strong black wo-man
But can I hold your hand and walk by your side as you go and
Conquer all that falls in place for you
And when hazard comes along I can relate to you
And when they throw stones and stereotypes I can get in the way for you
And when they argue if your “King” I can debate for you
And when they try to tear you down I can lift the weight from you
When you go blind by the signs of times I can be an eye for you
When spoken, unexplainable words fall on deaf ear I can hear for you
Become your translator when the bullshit’s expressed
Help you understand that you are best cause you are blessed
Massage your ego with sweet realities and relieve the stress
The drama, the baby mamas, society and all flaws against you
You complete me so my only conquest is to process it and complete you

What ills and thrills and chills you may endure

Although I hold my peace it is actions that speaks
And they stare as I walk away while my strengths at its peak

Traveling through this life with no one who can see
The real me, physically they feel me, but my body’s too sweet

And five minutes later I realize….I was DREAMING.
