a list of reasons why this site sucks
1. paid memberships: it's one thing to offer members a paid membership to make the site better for them e.g. removing ads, but when it becomes nessecary to have a paid membership to add anything good like an interactive, you've gone too far.

2. prices for paid memberships: writing.com, do you seriously think people are going to pay $10 just to use your site? seriously? for a upgraded membership maybe, but a basic? if traffic for your site has gone down THIS is partly why.

3. FUCKING ADS: the sidebar ads are bad enough but audio ads, pop-up ads and new window/tab ads? that's just taking things too far....again.

4. blocking ad blockers: i get that you need ad revnue to survive but forcing people to disable their ad blockers just for a little extra money. Just how stupid are you? what you should do is CONVINCE people to disable ad blockers not force them. e.g. i just disabled ad blocker for fimfiction.net (a FAR better website than here) because they asked me to not because they stopped me from using their site. think about that.

99% of the people who come...sorry CAME to this site, was to make interactives.........now your going to make them PAY for the "privilege" to do so..........okay, i'm convinced, the people/person who owns this site has no fucking clue what their doing,
goodbye writing.com, it was fun while it lasted but this is the final straw that will make people leave your site and never come back

you know what this new change says to me, that the owner(s) knows exactly why people come to the site, and wants to take as much money from them as they possibly can

Well asshole(s), here's a message especially for you, FUCK YOU, your site is NOT special, you are not special, anyone could easily create a site exactly like this, offer all it's services for free and run for much longer than you could, the ONLY reason, your site still exists, is because you have no competition, if i learn web design, the first site i'm making is going to be in direct competition with you, and i'll tell you this, i'm not going to demand a penny from anyone, like wikipedia, the most i'll ask for is tips and people will GLADLY give me them

: This has to be noticed as a general observation. Not everyone has the necessary means to support a site that looks as if it was released the same time as MySpace was invented with it's clipart features. A free account on Ff.net or Ao3.com is the answer.

: The story outlines to be specific, for some reason instead of loading the list as you scroll like it used to, it tries to load all 2k+ story branches in the outline at once and lags immensely. Freezes up my phone and nearly crashes laptop trying to load.
