A group working together to bring a Pride celebration worthy of its community.




         First of all, thank y'all so much from the bottom of my heart for helping me with this. A Pride celebration is something I really want to see carried out, a celebration in a way WDC hasn't yet seen. But I can't do it by myself, and here's the thing: I shouldn't be doing any of this by myself. Pride is about all of us, not just me, and I have no right to be making decisions on this level for the whole site.

         Each of you were selected because of your writing and your presence within the different WDC communities. You are the direct voices from within our own community, and your voices deserve to represent the community. I'm honored to be here with you.

         What we're gonna do with this activity is considered community service, and your commitment is noted and appreciated. We aren't working for me or each other...we're working for the community. I promise, when the time comes, you WILL be paraded on my shoulders for everyone to appreciate. And hopefully we can show the others that they can be an active part of the community and genre if they just believe they can.

         I've got a couple of propositions, but if at any time I try to take the full-on lead or make decisions I have no right to make, please lemme know. I'm used to working by myself to make sure the responsibility of work isn't on anyone else and to keep surprises fresh. This is all of us.

         Please allow me a couple of days to rustle some information together, a starting point if nothing else, and I'll pop it up right here. And there's no rush right now...we're still in the prepping phase. We just need to know what direction to take.
