This is me on the Ferris Wheel
Once upon a time, a little girl went to the amusement park. As she walked through the park with a friend, the friend saw a Ferris Wheel and wanted to ride. They both got on the Ferris Wheel and the little girl was not afraid because she had never been on one before. As the Ferris Wheel started to turn around and around and go up high the seat they were in started to tilt and to rock. The little girl began to panic that she would fall. She screamed at the top of her lungs that she wanted to get off. After several times around the operator finally let the little girl and her friend get off. In tears, the little girl vowed never to ride the Ferris Wheel again.

As she grew older, the little girl would visit amusement parks with her nieces and nephews but would always avoid Ferris Wheels for fear one of the children would want to ride. One day, the inevitable happened. Her nephew and his friend wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel…and it was a huge one. The little girl, who was now a big girl, tried not to look afraid as they approached the giant Ferris Wheel. Once they got on, the big girl thought she would close her eyes until the ride was over. To her surprise, she kept her eyes open as the Ferris Wheel started to go around and around and up high. The seat tilted and rocked like before but this time she was not afraid. The big girl realized that her fear was gone and she actually enjoyed the ride.

Afterward, the big girl pondered why she was no longer afraid of the Ferris Wheel. She could only surmise that time and perspective had made her less so. More important, she realized that her determination not to disappoint the children had given her the courage to do what she dreaded doing for so long.

Then the big girl made another vow. This time she decided not to avoid doing something based on one negative experience from the past and of course, to never say never again.
