for my neice.
this flower may gently bloom
if but only in the short time it has
it will grow with love and care
and even with all of that,
it will never last

because flowers grow and die
and some may die too soon
just like you, may you gently get to bloom

gently bloom

may you grow wings to fly
away from all the chaos of this world
may you fly away to a place where people never die
and when you arrive
give that million dollar smile
worth a million words
if only words could take me miles

miles away from the pain in her eyes
miles away from the weakness in her bones
miles away from all of the anger
miles away from this cold stone

this flower may gently bloom
in a place where time is nothing to anyone
and no one need be there
except to leave us all way too alone

this flower may have had time to gently bloom
in a world where god would answer my plea
to save just one tiny life in all the ones I have begged for
this is not the way a young life was meant to be

this flower may have had time to gently bloom
in a world where god would answer my plea
to save but one tiny lifein all the ones I have begged for
to let a flower live the life it was meant to lead.
