The knife seems gentle, but the lines cut deep.
Within the silence the city shall sleep
As the fading dawn grows form dark, to light
The knife seems gentle, but the lines cut deep

Hidden in my shadows, my dreams ever creep
My demonic visions appear to be the right
Within the silence the city shall sleep

Scarlet tears my pale skin shall weep
No one is here to tell of my plight
The knife seems gentle, but the lines cut deep

Beyond the bandages, congealing blood seeps
Silver in my ears, the whiteness my sight
With in the silence the city shall sleep

From the mists of morning, my madness keeps
Now, then forever, beauty is my blight
The knife seems gentle, but the lines cut deep

For me alone, death’s bleak head leaps
And I, only I, am losing this fight
Within the silence the city shall sleep
The knife seems gentle, but the lines cut deep
