You certainly know what you want. *Bigsmile* It's everyone's dream and right to receive such a review as you point out here. I've R&Red over 1.400 works on this site and still couldn't put into words how I rate or review so skilled as you did. *Pthb*

You tackle some sensitive spots, too. Too many people forget that there are other people of flesh and blood behind the keyboards around the world and may tend to send hate ratings, unfriendly "reviews" and so on. Your remark that it's a privilege the respective author grants the community by posting his / her work and should be highly valued instead of bashed is is not only very mature but also very true. *Smile*

My weakness is grammar as you know well *Laugh**Pthb* but that doesn't keep me from sending out long, babbly *Wink* reviews about how I liked characters and plots and to scrutinize and analyze the works I read till the receiver wishes I'd never stumbled over his / her port *Laugh* and finding logic holes and give suggestions on that basis. *Wink*

Unbiased is MOST important. Sometimes a little devil tells me to read stuff like poetry or sci-fi / fantasy and such what isn't really mine but it's sheer curiosity that makes me explore new things, topics, inspirations and even if much is not "my cup of tea" I try to stay objective and give adequate feedback. I think "Deep Impact wasn't exactly your cup of tea since it touched a very controversial subject, child abuse and the aftermath, but the more I value your detailed review on it and I don't only mean the grammatical suggestions. *Smile* I got the impression you understood what I wanted to say and that's most important to me. I'd be pleased to get more of them. *Smile*

I also try to balance my reviews between "good" and "bad" points, but I guess I'm just too much of a softie since "good" mainly overweighs. But that doesn't mean that I'm not frank with people on what needs work. I fear my ratings might be a bit higher than they should be but I admit it sucks to give "bad" ratings, under 3.5, but I sure do if necessary and explain why.

I doubted myself when I received two 1.5 ratings with the first comment that the piece is promising. After reading both through I understood why the low rating, fixed the errors, and was rerated much higher. I think critique helps the most if it first hurts the most... of course in a constructive way, not in a hateful. *Smile*

Oh... congrats on being a Rising Star! *Delight* *Thumbsup* *Heart*
