Wow, you almost fooled me with this one *Shock* and that's a huge compliment to the writer. *Bigsmile*

When you wrote detailed about "Jaws" and how it would be the base of this story I thought "Oh, man! Good thing you're such a good swimmer, otherwise I wouldn't have had the pleasure to meet you in person." *Wink*

I mostly agree with you on your assessment of both movie and book (although IMHO the movie was better, partly because of Roy Scheider... he had something, but I digress *Blush*) You recollected that first scene very vividly. It was one of the best because no one expected it, me neither when watching it for the first time. It made my hair stand on end, but I was only eleven so... *shrugs*

And then you continue on to a nice summer day you enjoy with your friends. You describe it so well in all dimensions (gosh, I almost drooled when I read over tons of goodies to have; diet sucks! *Frown*) You're fooling around, flirting, playing, everything's cool.

It resembled very close this anticipatory tension I also felt when the shark in the movie aimed the swimmer. Although nothing in your detailed memory seems off or suspicious I feels that there must come something. Then came the race... and then... I swear my heart skipped a beat. You can't scare an old girl like that! I'm no longer eleven, you know? *Wink*

Only after rereading I noticed that you referred to Elizabeth's bathing suit several times. The conclusion was clouded by sharkish anticipation if you want to call it so. *Wink*

I laughed out loud with relief. However obviously you fell victim to the same misconception as I when Elizabeth screamed. Ooooh, imagining the commotion she caused was too funny. *Bigsmile* But that she got into trouble because everyone thought she fooled them... not so nice. Also, how it continued with Elizabeth in the end was quite surprising as well.

My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Go Noticed.
