There have been many hurricanes lately.

Living here in Anderson, Indiana  , I haven't experienced any of these hurricanes up-close-and-personal -- only vestiges of them in the form of downpours, thunderstorms, high winds, etc. Sometimes, there have been tornado-sightings as well.

Actually, looking back on this year, my part of the third rock from the sun has not had really extreme weather for the most part.

Mari McKee has experienced at least one hurricane VERY up-close-and-personal being a resident of South Carolina  , and that was Hurricane Florence  .

Her poem -- which, in a way, reminds me of three tornadoes stacked like members of a totem pole -- is decided into three parts that describe (1) knowing that the hurricane is coming and making plans for its arrival and aftermath; (2) The arrival of the same and what it felt like to experience it; (3) The aftermath.

I'm not going to give away what kind of text art she uses to mark Florence's arrival except to say that it was simple-but-highly-effective.
