The variety of characters represented is interesting, but I think that too much focus on sexual orientation takes away from the other aspects of characterization. Don't let a focus on gender and sexual identity keep you from noticing the other aspects of characterization. Okay, she's bisexual but what is she interested in? Does she have a lisp? Okay they met in sixth grade but how?
