Hello there,

this is a genuine confession of what happened and how you found your way out of the jungle. This review is for your WDC Account Anniversary. Congratulations and have a wonderful day.

Addiction to anything is difficult to get rid of. Drug addiction is even more so. It damages brain and body alike. The beginning of recovery is the tough time. Temptation cannot be stopped at once or suddenly.
your poem sounds spontaneous and from heart. I could see the helplessness in the beginning very clearly.
"I'd been hooked on drugs,
One hundred years or so."

Your use of the figure of speech shows the tenacity of the drug habit.

Luckily, you found a way out and won the strong odds set against you. Indeed, when everything fails, it is the spiritual path to Him that shows the light and get you out of the morass.

"He removed the burden,
So I could begin again."

It is like a spiritual rebirth and now I am sure, you are stronger and better.

It flows well.

Write on!
