For your first attempt on WDC, this is a well thought-out and adeptly written piece.
I agree, reading people’s diaries from times past, opens your mind to the views and opinions of the world they lived in. I once had occasion to study some fascinating diaries and letters home from British troops fighting in Northern Russia. Families of the men donated them to the British War Museum. Some were so sad, while others tried to look on the brighter side of their having to fight and endure the bitter winter in Archangel 1919.
Anyway, back to your article. World War 1 should be 2. If your British, 1 would be 1914-18. If American 19-1918, and 2 1939-45, 1941-45 .
The grammar and phrasing needs tidying up, but as I said earlier, it’s a great fist effort. I hope you stay and enjoy your time here.
Best Wishes
Ari
