Milestones

Do you celebrate milestones?

I turned 40 last week, which feels like sort of a big deal. I'm pretty happy about getting to spend 4 decades on this beautiful Earth! *Bigsmile*

It got me thinking about milestones. I'm a big numbers person, and I keep track of several goals, such as books read, WDC reviews written, contests entered, etc.

Premium members have a really great tool, called My Submissions (find it in the navigation tool on the left of the screen by clicking "My Account) where you can keep track of your submissions!

In that "My Account" tab, you can find all sorts of things, like your Summary Stats, Awardicons, Merit Badges, Trinkets, etc. Lots of useful information!

Do you remember the first contest you ever entered on WDC? For many of us, I think it was probably "The Writer's Cramp"  [13+]!

Do you remember the first contest you won? It might be fun to keep track of those things!

Other milestones to keep track of can include your first NaNo completion, your first novel, your first short story, etc. And a great place to do this could be to keep a writing blog. It can be good to take a moment to review your accomplishments big and small!

I don't think Davey Kraken's code breaking contest gets near enough attention. It is an absolute must if you like puzzles! I've pimped it a few times on the main board, but it can always use more!
