Excerpt: Carl pushed his over flowing grocery cart down the rain slick sidewalk. Turning down an alley his cart bumped and skidded along the dirt and debris that covered ground. Carl often felt like an alley. No one paid any attention to them. They were the recipient of all the unwanted refuse. Only the rain washed it and sometimes it made the alleyway even worse. That was Carl.

Excerpt: The few regulars who remained after the breakfast rush hardly noticed as the skies darkened further and the rain poured steadily down the windows of the Slice o' Heaven diner. Grace walked down the aisle with a half-smile and a ready pot of coffee, dispensing refills of black gold and getting at best a grunt in response.
Excerpt: The other good thing about being tall was that this summer when her family visited the amusement parks, Janoah was oh so happy that she was tall enough to get on the rides of her choice, "nothing too dangerous though," she would say to her parents. It was a lovely summer, an unforgettable summer filled with swimming pools, trips to other cities, sleeping in nice air conditioned hotel rooms and jumping up and down on the big, soft bouncy beds. But now summer was coming to a close and Janoah felt a little sad about that. Soon she would be back in school.
Excerpt: I knew I had finally succeeded in life when I walked by a tacky t-shirt shop and saw a picture of my bar on a t-shirt entitled "The Bars of Key West" since there were only about 1/10th of the bars of Key West pictured.
Anyway it just so happens that we were located across the street from Jimmy Buffet’s "Margaritaville" and I couldn't ever step out of my bar without hearing that song, which until then I happened to enjoy.

Excerpt: A lone figure interrupted the placidity of the landscape, trudging silently along the walk that led to the Hawkins Building, which housed the pool. Fourteen year-old Danica Loumark shifted the small duffle bag from her shoulder to her hand as she climbed the front steps. Inside the bag was only a ratty old towel, two small travel-size vials of shampoo & body wash, and her swimsuit. She had learned of the open spot on the varsity swim team just yesterday, at lunch, and had no time to prepare.

Excerpt: Dillon was a difficult client to work with. Staff, even well-seasoned staff went out of their way not to be assigned to Dillon. He was young, only 19. He was labeled difficult, noncompliant, combative, stubborn. More often than not, it took two people to manage him. No one liked working with Dillion. Except for one crazy lady. Me.

Chibithulu (Alyssa) : Bugs and any vegetable that reminds me of a tree.
Lilliy Loidd 🪔 : I gots me a bit of trypophobia. *shudder*
beginnerwrath: Hearing, touching, smelling, looking at barf. But tasting your own barf coming out of your own mouth? It relieves people of squeamishness *thinking emoji*
Gosh, this is gross 
melovewriting  : Spiders (too many eyes and legs and I swear they can see into ones sole and beyond) and someone licking me.
Scifiwizard Retired  : Romance novels. I'm just not a fan of witnessing or reading anyone in the act of intimacy which is why I avoid even trying to write one.
s : Very little.
I can watch a doctor give me an injection. I can watch a doctor give me stitches. I have helped deliver a child. I have seen a man with a blade in his stomach and helped with the first aid. I was the stay at home dad, so vomit and poo don't bug me. I live in rural Australia, so animals (including insects and spiders) don't freak me out or I'd never leave home.
However...
Having gone through a sudden and catastrophic knee injury (I no longer have an ACL, my PCL is held in place by metal screws, my collaterals have been stitched back together, my patella groove is almost gone and I no longer have surface feeling in my knee), watching anyone on TV go through a knee injury actually gives me flashbacks.
(I'm not asking you to feel sorry for me. I was a circus acrobat, and went through a trampoline in 2004. By the end of 2005 I was back performing; halfway through 2007 I stepped back into a professional wrestling ring. Yes, I wore a huge carbon fibre knee brace - still do - and my other knee has to be braced as well. But that does not stop me from having to leave the room when I see a knee injury.)
Aries Writer : Spiders. I hate spiders and they know it. They purposely build webs in my way just to watch me freak out when I feel the webs plaster my face.
shepherd46: I agree with Aires Writer; spiders! They are crafty and manipulative.
Lilith of House Martell  : There was an episode of Fear Factor... the contestant had to eat something kinda gross - she started gagging, then I started. That's the only time I ever remember being squeamish.

Paul  : At 77 I can’t think of anything.
I had 6 kids, 17 grands and 5 great grands so I’ve kissed a few hundred bloody knees and elbows to cure them, handled and held crying funerals for many little animals the cat caught and masticated, been up-chucked on, pooped and peed on and changed many diapers that could have used effectively as chemical weapons.
Squeamish is a thing of the distant past.
