Love Fasting- what is it?

Fasting only reminds me about a technique in dieting but that was when I was still a teen-
because many used that word when emphasizing not to eat certain foods to get a good diet.

Fasting is common through long distance relationships, where 'space' between the two people is abundant, and it has become trendy, now that we are still in the pandemic era. *Bigsmile*

Fasting in the serious sense is significant in times of Lenten season, it is a belief that was observed and as a part of a believer faith as a way in celebrating the said season. It is like disciplining ourselves or starving the flesh by not eating foods- especially the 'meat kind in where our body is its important needs.
Some also believe they fast during the Lenten season to show that they are concerned and they become a part of what Jesus sacrificed on the cross.

But did you know that fasting is good to a growing relationship?

Or when will the fasting needs so that a relationship will grow?

Mark 2:19~ Jesus answered, "How can the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? They cannot, so long as they have him with them.

Of course in relationship fasting occurs when lovers aren't with each other.

Same as in a simple statement that how your loved one is in fast if you are with him/her.

Fasting means is not only for dieting or abstinence but this also needs in relationship to make it grow.

Observe, before the groom and the bride before they will take their vow, they first spend a bridal shower,
This is what they called a fasting in a few hours.

3 important elements that fasting ignites when we season it into our relationship.

*AsteriskB* 1. Space-
Fasting will lead to getting a space to ourselves,
In times of some bit of misunderstanding with our loved ones, sometimes we fast because we need space for ourselves.
We may have the tendency to forget ourselves when we are always beside with our loved ones, especially if one is dominant than the other one.
The 'space method is what we need then.

*AsteriskB* 2. Missingness-
Fasting leads to missing ness
When we are at fast and far away to our loved one- this makes us to miss him/her, and this will make the heart fonder and can rejuvenate the feelings again like the first time. Observe, why sometimes we get easily be acquainted to those who lives far away with us, because of the missingness.

*AsteriskB* 3. Discipline-
Fasting can teach us discipline ourselves.
Through, miss understanding with our loved ones, we can have a reflection on the things especially habits that can hurt our loved ones, and in this time we can realize it and let the healing or change flow to ourselves.

Whether we like it or not, sometimes our body needs a little bit of fasting in our relationship even just only for a few hours- or maybe a day as long as it is in our comfort ability.

In the Spiritual sense- fasting is a need specially when we blend with prayers and with our meditation to the Word of God
Because it is our response in disciplining the flesh, stating that Man shall not live by bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

Remember that Jesus had fast before they had a confrontation with the enemy and He succeeded all of the enemy's tactics in trying to deceive and attack the body, soul and spirit.

So in this Lenten Season, we need the fasting force for the reflection not only for our relationship but also for ourselves.
