How to finish what you've started
I got great feedback on my last newsletter, about knowing when to quit. I asked if you finish everything you start, and I got a variety of answers!
Overall, I think it can be quite tough to finish everything you start, which is why my last newsletter discussed knowing when to quit! I do think, however, that it's important to finish things, too. There's a fine line, I guess, between knowing when to quit and knowing when to finish. So how do you make sure you finish things?
 Lists! If you're the type of person who likes lists and schedules, you'll like this tip! I'm definitely this type of person, and I have to limit myself to only a few calendars per year to keep track of things, or it'll get out of hand!  Lists can certainly help you maintain a schedule, though. Try to keep your goals in mind and follow up with a schedule to attain your goals. You can be as detailed as you'd like, use a color-coded scheme, stickers, etc.
Rewards! Reward yourself for meeting your goals. A reward can keep you motivated to finish a project. Promise yourself a treat, like a nice meal, a walk, a movie, anything that will motivate you to keep going until the task is completed. It's important to know yourself and what can motivate you. If you're not sure, try experimenting with different things to figure it out!
Be true! As much as you can, try to understand yourself and your capabilities. Sign up for things you think you can reasonably finish. Unexpected things obviously happen, but try not to take on more than you can handle at one time!
Finishing projects can be a great feeling, and learning to take on and finish what you start can be a good skill in life, I think. Knowing when to quit is also important, though! As with most things in life, I think a healthy balance is the key, but not always easy!

My last newsletter, ("Contests & Activities Newsletter (April 7, 2021)" ), discussed knowing when to quit. Here is some feedback from last week's Newsletter readers:
I make a monthly list of contests here. I don't always find out about them in time though. Contest hosts should promote more on the community newsfeed (weekly?) imho.
Do I do them all? No. Some are too long, too quirky or don't inspire me in the end. Poetry I can handle. Short stories are a stretch. But I do try to expand my comfort zone. I've surprized others and myself.

Do I finish everything I start????? Well, I'm a person who has a VERY eclectic crafting personality. What does that mean? I not only write stories and poetry - I draw, paint, do counted-cross-stitch, quilt, other various sewings, crochet, read, play video games, and have a variety of collections as well. I'm sure there are other people out there who are just as eclectic as I am but sometimes I wonder.

That certainly is eclectic! I've taken up painting recently and I have several craft projects doing, but I tend to only be able to focus on one or two things at a time!
No I don't finish everything, and have started several books still waiting in the folder unfinished books and short stories. I guess I should make a to do plan for each tittle and finish them.
