Letter from the editor

Just like with words, a silent hug can communicate many things. Sometimes there just aren’t words to get across the message that you want to share and yet a simple hug can handle it all. But, what happens when we add some dialogue to that hug? "I love you" with an embrace might give the 'warm fuzzies', right?

Let's take this a step further! Why not throw a hug in your next horror/scary story? Of course, we don't warm those 'warm fuzzies' in a scary story, so this week we will look at some dialogue that when paired with a hug might make the recipient a tad nervous!

Dialogue, especially whispered, can get creepy when trapped in a hug. Here are some examples to get you in the mood for a fright!

*Dialog* "I know what you did."

*Dialog* "When I let go, run for your life."

*Dialog* "I always knew you'd die in my arms."

*Dialog* "Play along or they might take us both."

*Dialog* "Go. Go now, and don't look back."

*Dialog* "I've been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty." *Rolling*

*Dialog* "You know I'm not real, don't you?"

*QuestionR* Can you come up with more blood-curdling examples?

*QuestionR* Have you used this idea in a story yet?

*QuestionR* If this inspires you to use this idea in a story, let me know!

*ExclaimR* I'd love to hear all about it! Drop me a comment below and I'll share them in my next horror newsletter!
