Reduce Your Decisions?
I read an interesting fact the other day: Most presidents wear the same thing every day. Or they alternate between a few shirts or suits. The idea behind it is this: Presidents have to make a lot of difficult decisions, and by reducing the amount of "simpler" ones, like what to wear every day, it can help reduce the stress.
Normally, I'd suggest trying something new, and I still do recommend that if you have the energy and inclination to do it! But sometimes, we're making a lot of decisions in our lives outside of writing. Maybe trying a new genre or type of writing will add to the stresses of our daily lives. If that's the case, I'd say stick to what's comfortable!
If you normally write sonnets, write a sonnet! If you're comfortable with Young Adult fiction, keep at it!
There are times to try new things, and there are times not to try new things. The trick, I guess, is knowing the difference. For some of us, writing is an escape, a relaxing hobby (as relaxing as writing can be, right?  ), but sometimes you want a challenge. In addition, this can change at any time! The key to keeping writing fun is to be able to see which realm you're currently in, and plan accordingly.
So, depending on your current circumstances, I'd recommend either trying something new, or keeping with what's comfortable for you! Or something in between!

Feedback from my last newsletter "Contests & Activities Newsletter (September 21, 2022)" , which asked, "Where do you find inspiration?"
Other writers' works. Sometimes I read something, and I don't like some aspect - instead of attacking the author - might point out a few issues I have to them, in a polite manner, of course - I'll go, "Okay, how would I put a spin on this scenario?" Recently, I've been putting my own spins on a bunch of scenarios, because I didn't like something that I read - and I've been doing pretty good as a result.

I read a lot, anything from hard science to Apsley Cherry-Garrard's "The Worst Journey in the World" (Scott's fatal 1911 Antarctic expedition), military history, space exploration. Plus I've soldiered, hunted, fished, made knives. No matter what media you use, determine the source's reliability first: Are they accurate or a chronic liar, or somewhere in between? They evaluate the information: Is it probably accurate or probably not accurate? Do you need it for your writing, or maybe notes for later? (Yes, I was also a qualified instructor.)
