About This Newsletter

How can I stand here with you
and not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
any better than this

~ "Everything" by Lifehouse

I want somebody who cares for me passionately
With every thought and with every breath
Someone who'll help me see things in a different light
All the things I detest I will almost like

Romantic Song Showdown, 1st Cut

Last month I asked for suggestions on which songs should be considered the most romantic. After compiling all your emails, plus additional research in different music genres, here are the selections for the most romantic song.

Now it is up to you to keep your favorites in the running. Eighty songs will be eliminated this week, and eighty songs will move on to the next round. Complete the survey below, then stay tuned to see the results throughout the next few months.

*Note1* If you are uncertain of a song, you can always Google the lyrics by typing in the artist and the song. Can't remember the tune? Try sampling the songs on Amazon.com using your windows media player or real player.

Here are some of our readers' comments:

Forever Texan says: I think what makes a song romantic to the person hearing it is the memory or the person it makes you think of at that moment. It could be a song that says what it is that you are hoping to find with someone. It could be of a lost love.

Just Jamie says: "Everything" by Lifehouse has to be possibly the most romantic song. That song is the one my husband and I dedicate to each other, and the first one we danced to at our wedding. The lyrics make me cry every time!

Octobers Lie says: I have found that many different songs and lyrics can take on different meanings. Even songs that remind us of rocky times can take on a new meaning because they may represent a promise or that little reminder of love that prevailed.

Ask & Answer

*Bullet* Incurable Romantic : Your "tip of the day" about calling your partner's favorite radio station and having a song dedicated to that parter is a great one. One that has survived the test of time in many forms. I used an interesting variation of that very idea in early 1967 to keep my girl's spirits up when my parents were doing all they could to keep us apart. And it worked wonders. I thank you for passing on to all a proven, always meaningful and appreciated way to express love to our partners.

*Star* Lexi : Jim, I'm glad you liked my tip. I think it's such a sweet thing to do for someone you care about. That's the kind of feedback that I like to hear*Wink*
