For some, their faith is solid and straightforward. For others, finding the right faith for them is not that easy!
This week's Spiritual Newsletter is all about finding the right faith for you, and why we should tread with caution along the way.

Some of us are pretty much born into a faith. When we are children, we witness our parents and other family members express their faith, we may be sent to a faith school, and when we're older we find that that specific faith suits us and we stick with it.
I suppose that that is more or less the case with me, because even though I don't attend a church or any form of organized religion, I still see myself as a Christian.
For others, it's not as straightforward. Some are born into a faith but find that they don't believe in it, or it doesn't suit them. Some have never been introduced to a faith. Some find atheism is right for them, some become agnostic, some spend time to find something that fits their belief system and others would like to find a faith, or know they believe in something, but they can't find anything they're comfortable with.
There are a lot of options, even within Christianity. As this is the faith I'm most familiar with, I will use it as an example.
The obvious branches of Christianity are likely to be the first places people visit. Most people will have heard of the Catholic and Protestant churches. They may be familiar with them to some extent, through weddings or the celebrations of Christmas.
Those churches are not for everyone. Some people feel more at home with the slightly less formal Salvation Army, or the Baptists, or the Pentecostal Church.
Outside of the more recognized branches of Christianity (and there are more than I listed above), smaller groups and churches have sprung up. Many of them are of a charismatic nature, so it's not surprising that they're attracting a fair share of followers.
Plenty of them will be quite safe and legit, but the Bible does warn us of false prophets and unfortunately, some of these groups are a bit dodgy. One group I was made aware of recently has their leader take to the streets in a wheelchair to spread the word (collection bucket at the ready), whilst he is quite capable of walking. In his view, people are less likely to walk away from a person in a wheelchair. He claims to hang with a werewolf, to have made journeys to the sun and to have banished witches.
If you are searching for the right place of worship, I would recommend being wary of preachers of that kind. Often they will spout a whole load of nonsense. Perhaps they'll claim that they will be able to heal you from all manner of illnesses, so long as you're willing to part with your money. I won't say that miracles do not happen. Sadly, though, there are people out there who offer false hope to those in need, whilst getting wealthy through others' grief.
I think it's important to tread with caution. If in any doubt, don't hesitate to do research on the church/group/community you're considering. Most of the time, everything will be fine, but it's better to be safe than sorry. It can help avoid a lot of disappointment in the long run.

I try to keep an open mind to most stories of UFO's, etc. There have been too many unrelated reports of such instances and descriptions of aliens which were too much alike to be coincidence. We know God created us, but how can we say He did not also create other intelligent beings before He created us, or that angels or demons are not interacting with us. I too respect those who have strong convictions about what they believe, no matter how crazy it may sound. There are too many things we don't know to say that anything is not a possibility. What if our beliefs turn out to be wrong?
I agree with that. I do believe there's life out there. The universe is so vast, I think it would be odd if Earth were the only populated planet. I also saw a strange sight once - I always say it was a UFO because I couldn't identify it! And that's the definition of a UFO  .
You are right. Our beliefs may turn out completely wrong. It's quite intriguing, really. At least, it is to me!
