Letter from the editor

I am so excited! Wynwidyn Press in conjunction with WDC is putting out the 1st ever Writing.Com Anthology!!! No other writing site has one. We will be the first and the only, and, as we are (IMHO) the BEST writing site, this is the coolest thing ever! When I started Wynwidyn Press, I knew that there was one thing for sure that I really wanted to be able to do above and beyond all the normal things one does as a self-publishing company. I wanted to give back to writing.com as it has been and continues to be one of the most important facets of my life.

As I thought about what and how and maybes and possibles, I thought about Random Acts of Kindness and the wonderful way they enable so many writers here to be more involved, how by upgrading people's ports, they allow, encourage and facilitate writers to write more, to grow as authors, to simply be more. I came up with the idea of the anthology which would help
RAOK Upgrade Brigade Group  [E]
RAOK (Random Acts Of Kindness) helps members by Upgrading them.
by Writing.Com Support
and give a large number of WDC members one more opportunity to be not only published, but published in an anthology of their peers!

So, yes, submissions will cost gps which will go to RAOK. And, no, not every one who submits will get into the anthology. All entries will be judged by a panel of judges. We really hope to get submissions from all case colors. Teens, this book will be for our 18+ members; next Spring, we will do a Teen WDC Anthology!

If your piece is picked, do you have to buy a book? Nope! We hope you do, of course. Why? Because after the cost to print the books, the rest of the money is also going to RAOK!!!! I'm hoping that by the end of the year RAOK will be able to upgrade folks to their heart's content! And, as the books are only going to cost ~ $10.00, I'm thinking almost anyone will be able to afford one!

We will be looking for poetry, short stories, non-fiction and black and white photography. Find out the rest of the info at

This is an awesome opportunity for us at WDC to have what no other writing site has and to be a part of this first of its kind. Yes, I hope this raises tons of gps for RAOK. More, I hope this will be an exceptional reflection of what Writing.Com is all about and of the wide variety of authors we have within our community. So dig through your ports and pick out some of your favorite pieces or write something new: either way you'll be included in what I hope will be the best anthology ever!!!!

Tadpole1 writes: Hi ya Fyn, I am so happy for you as you realize your dream!
Guess what, tears actually welled in my eyes when I read your article.*Smile*

Awww thanks!

Legerdemain says: Great newsletter Fyn! Your tale about the biker bar reminded me of a time I went to a biker's funeral. Three different gangs in the same room. I admit, my eyes must have been as big as saucers. And regarding the walking stick, those sticks must be chock full of karma, don't you think? Keep caring for your tree, I know you'll succeed!

Thanking you too! We've got a few authors thus far and two super awesome ones...Oh wait...of course they are awesome--they are from WDC!!!

Mara ♣ McBain adds: Great NL! It was awesome meeting you and sharing those moments. *Heart* I loved the traveling stick story. The love as you described the craftsmanship and other man's joy in the same was beautiful.

NickiD89 comments: I loved every word of this lovely newsletter. It took me on a journey this morning as I read, a walking stick in and of itself. Think I'll carry it around with me all day *Smile*
