How to Get Item Views
One member asked how to get use for their items. Here are several ways!

One question that new and older members of the site sometimes wonder about is how to get their items seen. I'll give several ways, here, that are handy for getting items seen and reviewed.

1. Review, Review, Review

You might notice, on the left sidebar, there is a section called "Reviewer Items". It is a section that pulls from the portfolios of people reviewing and posting their reviews on the public review page.

There are also several groups that look through the public reviews and reward good reviewers with reviews of their own items. (Not to mention, some people review those who review them.)

2. Join a Reviewing Group

Look for groups that deal with reviewing. Oftentimes, you can find groups that give reviews to certain genres or types of items. They usually come with requests to also give reviews in return, but that does make sense, as well. You give, someone will be willing to give back.

3. Request a Review

Do you see a reviewer that you are particularly interested in getting feedback from? One of the newer features of the site is the ability to request a review from a member. You can navigate to their portfolio, then click on their review tab, and then finally request a review from them. You'll need to possibly wait until their schedule permits, but picking an active reviewer would make that wait much shorter.

4. The Shameless Plug Page

This is one of my favorite pages on the site, honestly. "The Shameless "Plug" Page [E] is a great way to both find things to review, and to get your item seen by those wishing to look for new items. There is a limit to how many posts you can put on the page, and a limit as to the rating of the items, so be sure to read the guidelines before posting.

5. Join Contests

This is probably the way to make absolutely sure something is seen. People have to judge competitions, therefore it will be read. The other contestants usually love reading their competition, so there are even more reads that way. Just make sure you read all of the contest rules before jumping in head first.

bonzo1964 said, "This newsletter is precisely what I need! When I first joined, there was so much to read and absorb and I just sort of jumped in and started writing. Now that I've done a lot of that, I am ready to settle in and read up on all this info. Thanks for a great site...I am really enjoying it!"

Well, I can't take credit for the site. That credit all belongs to The StoryMaster and The StoryMistress . However, I am super glad the newsletter was helpful to you. *Smile*

Just got a quick question. I was wondering if there is any way to get views up on your items aside from time and the plug pages. Any assistance would be awesome :)"

This newsletter was written just for you! I hope it is helpful.

riggs How do you view 18+ stories?"

Check your account settings. Click on your name on the left side of the screen, then choose the "Options" tab. Within that tab, there is a setting called "Content Rating Options". You can set your content filters that way.
