Never Too Late.
I'm 60 years old, older perhaps than most folks here (but much younger in my mind than my physical age).  I took a creative writing course in college almost 40 years ago and loved it. An 'A' in the course suggested I had some talent. Then life happened. I didn't put pen to paper again until twelve years ago. I found I had really missed that part of my life.
What's your story? Do you think it's too late to succeed in your quest to become a writer? You're never too old to chase your dream.
Grandma Moses, the quintessential late-bloomer, didn't begin painting until she was 70. During her next 30 years of life, she created some 1600 works of art. Walt Disney was in his 50's before pursuing his dream of creating Disneyland. Recently, 88-year-old Harper Lee published her follow-up book, Go Set A Watchman, some 55 years after To Kill A Mockingbird was published. And older than Ms. Lee is Bertha Wood, who published her first book, Fresh Air and Fun: The Story of a Blackpool Holiday Camp, on her 100th birthday in 2005. The book is based on her memoirs, which she began writing at the age of 90.

About three weeks ago, I posted a request for "older Newbies," whom I might interview for this newsletter. I still think these folks have a story to tell. I want her to live in the hear and the now. I want to help my mom understand how to accept that some people will never change unless they decide, and in the meantime just have faith and wait.
