Sweet Sixteen

Here we are again, one week from the biggest party of the year.

You thought you can breathe between GoT and NaNoWriMoPrep? Think again.

Any minute now, you will see that little balloon pop up on the left side bar. With that balloon comes a link. Click on it on September 1 - September 7 and for the rest of the month as many times as possible. It will be grand. It will be colorful. There will be writing, reviewing, gift points, raffles, and many more things to celebrate Writing.Com's sixteenth birthday.

That week is always filled with excitement and usually the site Master and Mistress treat us to cool new features to the site, fun new emoticons, and other unique stuff.

In the meantime, don't forget to take part in all of the things already going on here on the site. "Activities @ Writing.Com and "Writing Contests @ Writing.Com are flowing over with new contests, long lived contests, and one really old contest open again.

Ask & Answer

I got the following replies to my last newsletter "Hone Your Skills

Yep. I remember the day somebody told me I should write a limerick. I really don't know how and I didn't feel like finding out what makes a limerick. And here I am, years later still blissfully ignorant about limericks. *Laugh*

You have a lot of rules for writing. I kind of agree that hate speech writing is not fun, but when it comes to writing, I'd rather not impose too many rules. I'd rather have a person write what they feel and behave nice the rest of the time.
