About This Newsletter

Every adult, whether he is a follower or a leader, a member of a mass or of an elite, was once a child. He was once small. A sense of smallness forms a substratum in his mind, ineradicably. His triumphs will be measured against this smallness; his defeats will substantiate it.
~ Erik Erikson

Letter from the editor

Even if you're not a new member to the site, you might have questions about which membership is a better choice for you. When I first signed up for Writing.com, eons ago, I started out with the free membership but soon found out that I prefer more space in my portfolio, more room to store my many images, folders, activities. I invest more time into activities sometimes than my own writing, but that's not here nor there.

As you start out, the free membership is great to get to know your way around the site, to figure things out, because, no extra space is required to search through the many links on the site, its many activities, contests, etc. However, if you are serious about writing, about sharing your writing with us, then you're probably considering adding more space to your portfolio.

While each membership has a specific cost, depending on your choice of three, six, or twelve months, you also need to figure out which would be something you'll be happy with. Personally, back when, I chose the basic membership for a few months, just to test the deeper waters and fell in love with it but wasn't happy with the size and, down the line I expanded my membership to premium and haven't looked back since.

Yes, there is a different cost for each of these memberships, but through entering activities, contests, and reviewing, you can gain enough to switch from a free to paid membership, therefore entering the official contests. If you win a place in those, the rewards are plenty!

And, if you're like me, you'll just skip all that entirely and simply pay for your entire membership and not worry about it at all. *Bigsmile*

'Til next time!
