Don't Forget Our Newbies

Remember when you first joined this community? How the site felt gigantic and how wonderful it was to surf around reading everyone's items? Remember getting lost? I do. I first started coming to this community as a guest and spent nearly a year reading all the public poetry and stories in member portfolios. Then I wanted to join in the fun so I signed up for an account.

Suddenly, I could see ten times as many things and posted some things in my portfolio. I tried all kinds of contests and met some really nice people that helped me along. Then I upgraded my account and started hosting some little activities, it was so fun! I finally worked up the nerve to start reviewing people, and looking back, I don't know why I felt so intimidated doing reviews.

If you're a Newbie on this site...don't be afraid to ask questions! The only 'silly' question is the one unasked. If you don't understand the rules of a contest, email the owner. They should be able to help you and your asking helps them understand their rules may not be clear and need editing. Once you understand the rules and figure out that bitem thing, join in the fun!

If you've been here a while, encourage a Newbie, take a minute and help them with a question or send a helpful review. You'll encourage someone to participate in our community and keep it an awesome place to belong. Write on!

Last month's question: Have you used Bid Click? Did you get more quality reviews?

the Wordy Jay responds: Hey, what an interesting and informative newsletter! I only know about auto-rewards for reviews above 250 characters but never knew that this advertising system exists. Thanks for the tips and tricks, Legerdemain. *Thumbsupl*

BradJShaw ⚓ answered: no, and until today I had no idea what a bid click was. Thanks, very helpful article.

Dragon is hiding replied: I tried using bidclick once, and something like 20K GPs disappeared overnight so I stopped it! *Shock*
It can happen quickly when people are curious and click! It's a good idea to use a group to store your bidclick gift points and bid from there. *Wink*
