About This Newsletter

*Delight*Happy New Year! Are you all ready for new adventures into the unknown! I was cleaning up my port and it brought to mind some items I forgot in my favourites. *Wink* So for this edition I'd like to begin at the beginning as I know there may be new folks out there. Let's look at what WDC has to offer Poets!

Letter from the editor

*Fairy2* One place where it is fun to hang out is the "The Poet's Place ! Prof Dave and fellow authors offer a friendly forum in which to learn to write forms of poetry and read and chat with fellow poets.
If you become a member you can access a whole archive of links, lessons, articles, insights, contests and you can sit, sip tea, scibble haiku and noodle to your muse's content.

*Fairy* The first resource I used when I joined 8 years ago was "A Poet's Tool Box which contains all manner of convenient links to articles, newsletters on form, poetic devices etc! *Cool* Another reference is "Poetry Forms.

*Fairy3* There are many poets here at WDC and when you dig around you can find all kinds of cool tools like "Sensory Words or "Invalid Item that might get your muse or word wizard excited! *Crazy*

*Fairyl* You can also subscribe to WDC Poetry Newsletter, which arrives every Wednesday if you subscribe. Just click on the Writing Resources on the sidebar and find Newsletters to manage your subscriptions.

*Fairyr* WDC authors also offer lessons in poetry through the "Invalid Item both for beginners and more experienced poets. I began with "From the Ground up"! (You may still be able to sign up! *Wink*

*Quill* Not only is writing poetry vital but how about reviewing it. I learned agreat deal from reading and reviewing.
There are valueable insights offered in WDC Reviewing Handbook in which I found this handy help: https://www.writing.com/main/books/entry_id/641932

and there are many author insights like:
"Reviewing Newsletter which I found recently and "Poetry Newsletter (March 30, 2011)! *Smile*

For an indepth review you might enjoy: "The Art of Reviewing Poetry by Dave

*Fairy2* WDC authors also offer a variety of poetry contests, from open expression "Invalid Item to traditional form, "Poetic Traditions Poetry Contest in many genres. There is something for every one. Check on the Contest page under the Community Tab or Browse by Type Forums! {and I have a few links below to start you off.}

Why wait? Start the new year with a MUSE! *Fire*
Ler me know how it goes! *Wink*
