I need your help and advice! I’ve written a blurb for my book.
Poll Question:
Going Dark is a dual-timeline thriller that blends today’s technology-ladened world of computer hackers and international terrorism with the origin story of our protagonist’s connection to the secret hereditary society—The Liberty Unit.

Immediately following the 9/11 attacks, remnants of Bin Laden’s Al-Qaeda terrorist organization infiltrated America and built a network of fighters that remained dormant for over two decades. On Thanksgiving Day, 2025, Hassan Al Hamadei, Al-Qaeda’s cyber warfare unit commander, launched the second phase of Bin Laden’s master plan. The subsequent attacks devastated a vulnerable U.S. economy, thrusting America into yet another middle eastern war. However, unlike past middle east conflicts, the enemy targeted the U.S. homeland.

Paul Knox, a software security expert for the Air Force’s Sixteenth cybersecurity division, unknowingly exposes the identity of the international terrorists responsible for the Thanksgiving Day bombings. In search of answers, Paul discovers his late father was a member of an elite underground society created by the Founding Fathers, which has protected America for over two centuries.

After a failed attempt to capture Paul, the terrorists frame him for murder. Aided by the Liberty Unit, Paul “goes dark,” off-the-grid, in his effort to escape the pursuing terrorists, avoid arrest and protect his daughter Emma.

Paul, Emma, and retired Chicago cop Mike “Mack” Johnson race to stop the terrorist commander who has deployed a sophisticated ransomware attack that threatens to bring down the world’s Internet.

Woven into the modern-day plot is the origin story of the Liberty Unit, a secret society founded by Henry Knox at the request of George Washington. Jack Jouett, the real-life Virginian and Revolutionary War hero, is ordered by then Governor Jefferson to deliver a package containing an encoded message to the Fort at West Point. The message contains information that will turn the tide of the war and ultimately save the life of the future President of the United States.
