Dreams, lovers, princes, fairytales, romance do come true.
The Gate

I sit, I wait, I contemplate, the Gate.
Someone I see, though distant from me,
looks up to find me staring.
His eyes can see, as no distance be,
his pace begins to quicken.
My hands begin to tremble, my heart begins to quiver,
I think I must be dreaming.

There IS a Knight in Shining Armor, there IS a real Prince Charming.
I close my eyes, in strong desire, I want him to come closer.
Can he be real? His flesh I feel, his lips upon my cheek.
Is this the "now", is this the past, is this the "ever-after"?

I slow the pace, I dare not wake, I struggle to go deeper
In sleep, to dream a clearer face, to feel his arms around me,
His warmth, his breath upon my neck, his kiss upon my forehead.

But then a void I cannot shake, swirls 'round inside my heart,
Tornado-like it tunnels deep,
Scattering all my emotions, my dreams so quickly.
I cannot hold the pieces together any longer.
I tried, but they loosed from my hands,
I feel so weak.

Then I awake, but still I smile, I know my love was with me.
There was a Knight in Shining Armor, and yes, a real Prince Charming.
"Ever-after" was, is and will be, an eternal love like this.
