Cliche? Yes. Naive? Definitely. Idealistic? Of course. Endearing? Perhaps.
Life is a lot like a song.

It starts at birth and as the years come and go you learn to appreciate it; to move with it; to dance. Every once in a while we miss a beat here and there, and some of us stumble over our own two feet; however, the song does not cease to play. It continues on symbolizing the growth each individual makes not through perfection but through errors.

A time will come when we are ready to share our song with another. We will take his/her hand and together we will dance. No one has to lead because the steps are entwined in our souls and branded on our hearts for the world to see; love does not hide.

Time will pass and we will change partners time and time again, but never will we forget the first. The first dance partner can never be forgotten because they will always hold a special place in our heart constantly reminding us each who we were and who we have become. However, we will find, in time, that each dance partner is unique and teaches us something new about ourselves and allows us to grow.

The song stops, only briefly. We look up and there he/she is: our imperfect partner. Together we grow to be perfect in unison. Our imperfections and errors become insignificant because the errors of our youth are what allowed us to get to this very moment: dancing with the person whom you will share your life.

Life is a lot like a song and love is a lot like a dance.
