A poem for and about those who wear masks.
Jokers Jump Decks

Jokers jump from deck to deck,
and have their fill of false affection.
Yet never having a home of their own,
these visible scars bring distorted conceptions;
and embrace that they are still alone.

Dancing to be funny,
yet loathing to be numb.
Setting their lonely destiny,
to which they must succumb.

The uniform cards of kings and queens,
and numbers labeling all;
an almost upsetting scene it seems,
how from conformity they call.

And nothing is said to ease the confounded,
when the card is so easily discounted.
And the inability to listen ,
denies respect to ever be given.

But jokers jump, and always will.
They find false friends in other places,
with different themes and different faces.
But only enough to keep on dreaming,
when the need for love is always teeming.
