This is a poem I wrote in seventh grade.
Ah! Perseverence, my dear friend in hand, never shall be banned. For as long as I live, I shall sing a song of your reverence to all people and shall never bind you to the clever tricks of truant fugitives who use deception to lure you to lies.
You should rise up and tell them that they are demented tempters, sent to demolish all good, and that you will not become deceived or indebted to them at any time or place. In this way, you will persevere to the end, will sincerely stand against oppressors, and will not bend the other way.
