For all those who have suffered loss...
Tread softly,
For my heart is bleeding.
Speak gently,
If you must, I am pleading.
There is really nothing you can say
That will take this pain away.

Pass slowly,
So my eyes may find you.
Just hold me,
It's really all you can do.
Hold me, in your prayers night and day,
Hold me, in your heart - hide me away.

Let me find,
A refuge from this numbing storm.
What I need,
Is someplace safe and warm.
Let me rest there, far from evil things,
That would try to steal what little hope remains.

Embrace me,
with your knowing, loving smile.
Sit with me,
Hold my helpless hand awhile.
There is nowhere I would rather be,
Than with those who understand and care for me.

Sit quietly,
While my eyes are weeping.
Weep with me,
For my love, who to the world, is sleeping.
Though it's hard, I know there will be better days.
Still I'm confused now, in so very many ways.

Give me,
A refuge from this unreal storm,
I need,
Some place where it's safe and warm
To rest, and hide myself away
'Til able to face another day.

Remind me how it used to be,
Before my heart began to bleed.
