This is a revised poem originally written for a contest.
I am in a listless
suspension of limbo;
driven within by the
foreboding of a irresolute keep.
My smoldering protest is offset
into a sequestered cell.
A collapsed whisper strains into
a merciful ether rigid dusk.

The disorganization of the
wounded tames me.
A dull vemon tames me,
a flat tranquilizer;
no form to fleshen
my narrow existence.

The refugee warden still shackles
me behind his evasive door.
His unfinished rancor spills
in cycles - Transfixed
at the awareness of
depleted biting air I
withstand solely now,
I detect the approach
of his oblivion.
